Untethered Jailbreak for iOS 7.1.2, iOS 7.1.1 using Pangu

If you are having iOS 7.1.1 or iOS 7.1.2 framework for your device, you can get the device jailbroken by using tool called Pangu release by chinese hackers just after the latest OS framework went out. If you are not iOS 7.1 or above user and want to jailbreak your iPhone, iPod, iPad, you need to upgrade it to iOS 7.1.1 or iOS 7.1.2.  Thanks to the team of Pangu who made jailbreaking so easy.

So before we proceed with jailbreaking, below are the few important points that have to be kept in mind.

  • Pangu is compatible with iOS 7.1, iOS 7.1.1 and iOS 7.1.2
  • Make sure you have the latest version of iTune.
  • Don’t forget to take backup using iTune or iCloud.
  • Make sure you have disabled passcode. Jailbreaking may not work if it is enabled. You can do so by going to Settings -> General -> Passcode Lock On -> Turn Passcode Off.
  • Proceed with Caution at your own risk as Jailbreaking your device may void warranty.

Follow below steps to jailbreak your device running iOS 7.1, iOS 7.1.1, iOS 7.1.2 framework:

Step 1 – Download the latest version of Pangu Jailbreak tool for Windows or Mac from below link respectively

Step 2 – After downloading Pangu for either of Win or Mac and connect the device with  PC/ Mac using USB cable.

Step 3 – Click the downloaded file and you will see a small screen pops up with a black Jailbreak button.

Step 4 – Follow on screen instructions. At some point, it will ask to set your device to 2nd June. You can do so by going to Settings>General>Date & Time. Click on Automatic and set it to 2nd June.

Step 5–  Just after changing the date it will restart the process and install Pangu app.

Step 6 – Start the App and tap to continue upon being asked if you surely want to open the app. Click Continue button to proceed with jailbreaking process.

Step 7 – As a part of jailbreaking, your device will reboot several times. After sometime, you will see Cydia icon appears on the home screen and your device is ready for installing tweaks.  You can go back to settings and set it to current date.
